The trust is made up of local community members, with an objective of establishing community tourism projects on the banks of the Bloukrans River and Bridge which forms the boundary between the Eastern and Western Cape Provinces. The 29ha of land presently owned by the communities used to be the custodian of the former Roads Department, and later transferred to the Public Works Department and finally to the Trust in 1995.
